What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is a comprehensive program run by the European Union to encourage individuals and institutions to gain international experience, develop collaborations, and share knowledge in the fields of education, youth, and sports. This program, valid for the 2021–2027 period, offers new opportunities to participants across Europe and the world.
Main Objectives of the Program:
* To increase the quality of education and support innovative teaching practices,
* Strengthening the personal and professional development of young people,
* Ensuring the sharing of knowledge, experience and good practices by encouraging international cooperation between institutions,
* Developing social inclusion, intercultural interaction and digital competencies.
Target Audience and Opportunities:
The Erasmus+ program appeals to a wide range of people, from students to teachers, young people to adults, educational institutions to civil society organizations. The program includes:
* Mobility Activities: Overseas education, internships and on-the-job experiences, youth exchanges, training courses, volunteering projects,
* Partnership and Collaboration Projects: Inter-institutional strategic partnerships, innovative application projects, eTwinning and digital education projects,
* Capacity Building and Dissemination: Information sharing and national and international capacity building activities are carried out.
Why Is It Important?
Erasmus+ projects not only provide participants with international experience, they also raise the quality standards of educational institutions, develop young people's intercultural skills, and raise public awareness. They also foster sustainable collaborations between institutions, creating lasting impact both locally and globally.
Our Role as YEAR-GE Association:
YEAR-GE plays an active role in the development, implementation, and dissemination of Erasmus+ projects. While providing national and international mobility opportunities for students, youth, adults, and educators, we aim to strengthen inter-institutional collaborations and develop innovative solutions in education.
With Erasmus+, borders in education are disappearing, the sharing of knowledge and experience is increasing, and the investment in the future of societies is becoming concrete.
